Senior Psychology Advisor - Registered Psychologist

Are you a registered psychologist with expertise in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of psychological aspects of physical conditions? Do you have a thorough understanding of psychological reactions to workplace injury and trauma? We’re looking for a qualified psychologist to join our dynamic Mental Health Services department as a Senior Psychology Advisor. You’ll work with teams specialized in trauma, serious injuries, high-risk situations, brain injury, occupational disease, chronic pain, and difficult work relations.

How you’ll make a difference: As part of our interdisciplinary case-management teams, you’ll focus on helping injured workers in their recovery, rehabilitation, and safe return to work.

This role is currently designated as hybrid and is based in our Surrey office.

This role is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. These are considered case by case, based on the needs of the work, aren’t available in every role, and subject to the provisions of the Collective Agreement.

This is a part-time position, working 29 hours per week within a Monday-to-Friday schedule.

• Engage in collaborative, proactive, individual case consultations
• Conduct file reviews and write clinical opinions
• Plan and monitor assessment and treatment services
• Participate in team meetings
• Offer educational presentations to staff to promote an understanding of psychology and the concepts and practices of case management
• Liaise with healthcare providers
• Provide supervision to psychologists engaged in the registration process for the College of Health and Care Professionals of B.C., and to psychology practicum students

We’re looking for someone who can:

• Provide expertise in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of psychological reactions to workplace injury and trauma
• Solve problems in an interdisciplinary, case-management setting
• Establish rapport and build trust with clients, colleagues, and others in a clinically complex and diverse environment
• Present your expert knowledge, opinions, and ideas to a variety of individuals and groups (verbally and in writing)

Your background and experience

• A graduate degree in clinical psychology, neuropsychology, or counseling psychology and current registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of B.C. (CHCPBC), or eligibility for an expedient registration with CHCPBC
• A minimum of three years of relevant work experience as a psychologist, preferably in disability management, workers’ compensation, insurance, medical-legal setting, or healthcare in a multi-disciplinary team environment
• Experience providing direct psychological/neuropsychological assessment and treatment services
• Training and experience in conducting psychological assessments and/or treatment in an institutional context
