We’re looking for client centric individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of injured workers. This includes reviewing and assessing evidence, conducting investigations, determining permanent disability benefit (PDB) entitlement under the Workers Compensation Act (the Act), and communicating PDB decisions to clients, employers and their advocates as needed.
How you’ll make a difference: You’ll ensure people with permanent work-related disabilities get the benefits they need.

At WorkSafeBC, we offer a hybrid work model that combines working remotely, and in our offices based on the operational needs of the position.
We’re looking for people who can:
- Independently and proactively manage and be accountable for prioritizing a diverse, high-volume workload, while meeting performance objectives and time constraints
- Identify issues, gather and analyze relevant information, distinguish logical links in evidence, facts, law and policy, to make reasoned and timely decisions requiring a high level of discretion and complexity
- Communicate complex, potentially negative decisions, both verbally and in writing, in a way that is understandable, empathetic, and compassionate to a diverse audience
- Remain resilient, calm, and professional in supporting potentially vulnerable individuals in stressful, sensitive, and emotionally challenging situations
- Be flexible and adaptable to change; open to learning; and accepting of feedback and direction
Your background and experience:
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant discipline including, but not limited to, social work, psychology, conflict resolution, or biomedical
- A minimum of three years of experience making complex adjudicative decisions or applying law and policy to make complex determinations
We’ll consider equivalent combinations of education and experience.
