Are you passionate about budgeting, financial reporting, and financial analysis? Do you want to make a difference in British Columbia? We are looking for two Senior Financial Analysts to join the Corporate Finance department and supervise daily operations in the accounting functions.
In this role, you’ll use your strong knowledge of both accounting and business operations to analyze and provide input into improvements to the department’s daily operations, as well as our financial accounting and reporting processes.
This is a temporary role for 12 months.
How you’ll make a difference: You’ll help protect the financial integrity of B.C.’s workers’ compensation system.

At WorkSafeBC, we offer a hybrid work model that combines working remotely, and in our offices based on the operational needs of the position.
We’re looking for people who can:
- Supervise a team of employees and lead a multi-disciplinary team including mentoring, coaching, and training team members
- Clearly and concisely document and present accurate and detailed information, in written and verbal formats, to groups, including senior management
- Use a systematic approach in collecting and analyzing information to identify financial and administrative programs and develop and recommend alternatives
- Use specialist knowledge of advanced financial accounting principles and financial recording
- Apply management accounting theory (e.g., prepare budgets, use financial analytical tools)
- Prepare journal entries and maintain financial books of account
- Apply applicable tax legislation in an operating environment
- Provide quality customer service with diplomacy and professionalism
Your background and experience
- A professional accounting designation (CPA)
- A minimum of three years of related experience in research and analysis in any of the following areas: financial, tax, investment, or accounting
- Knowledge of financial policies and procedures and business process risk and control procedures
- Supervisory experience within a unionized environment is preferred

Our benefits

- Extra 4% of your salary in lieu of benefits and 4% in lieu of vacation from the day you start

Salary: $48.47 - $61.10/hourly
