Overview

Our Real Property & Workplace Services (RPWS) team is responsible for real estate, space planning, building operations and infrastructure, project management, sustainability, risk management, and workplace services to all our offices throughout the province.

We’re looking for a Project Coordinator II to support the successful delivery of a wide range of workplace projects in the area of workplace enhancements, furniture systems and interior design, renovations and construction, building infrastructure and equipment replacements.

Where you’ll work

In this role, you'll work in our Richmond office five days a week.

What you'll do

As a Project Coordinator II you will:

  • Be responsible for coordinating complex projects by developing, planning, designing and coordinating all functional, technical, operational and financial aspects and details of the project under the supervision of the RPWS Manager.
  • Provides oversight for contractors, including monitoring and inspecting active job sites to determine if work progress and workmanship is proceeding in conformity with contract documents. Ensure that the quality of work is within departmental standards and is completed in a timely and cost effective manner.
  • Oversees transition activities from renovation/construction to occupancy, including: move planning and execution and post-occupancy management.
  • Be the facilitator between various stakeholders such as internal client groups, senior leadership, external stakeholders, professional consultants and contractors.
  • Prepare design sketches or working drawings using AutoCAD and provide work direction to Project Coordinator I.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and coordinate health and safety activities on-site.

 

Is this a good fit for you?

We’re looking for someone who can:

  • Demonstrate Strong Organizational Skills and can initiate and oversee the design and construction processes requires excellent organizational skills. 
  • Communicate effectively as the key coordinator between multiple stakeholders including client departments, external consultants, and contractors, strong communication skills are essential. 
  • Be proficient in AutoCAD and Technical Drawing, experience is crucial for preparing design sketches and working drawings. 

Your background and experience

  • A Bachelor’s Degree (Construction Management, Architectural & Building Technology, Interior Design, Project Management, Facilities Management, or related fields would be preferable), and AutoCAD
  • Minimum of 4 years of directly related project coordination experience related to workplace design and /or building construction and project management.
  • Experience with project management of workplace and/or facilities construction is an asset
  • Working knowledge of space planning and design and related regulatory requirements
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel, and MS Project
  • A valid BC driver's license (This position requires the incumbent to travel throughout the province, either flying or driving, and stay overnight).

Salary: $38.48 - $48.46/hourly
