The Employee Health, Safety and Wellness team has a temporary Disability Health Manager opportunity available for you to support our employees who need to be away from work for health reasons and/or require workplace accommodations due to both occupational and non-occupational illness or injury. This role is key in providing early and ongoing support for our employees to remain at work where possible and, if medical leave is required, to maintain our employees’ connection with the workplace and to facilitate return to work in a safe and timely manner.
You’ll work closely with employees, internal and external stakeholders, including claims representatives, to coordinate best practices for employee health and wellness.

Where you’ll work
At WorkSafeBC, we offer a hybrid work model that combines working remotely, and in our offices based on the operational needs of the position.
In this role, you will work primarily from our Richmond Office with some flexibility to work from your home in B.C.
We’re looking for someone who can:
- Interact empathetically with clients in situations which include confidential and sensitive issues
- Build and can sustain good relationships with key stakeholders
- Manage the accommodation process, liaising with employees and other stakeholders to implement reasonable and effective solutions.
- Gather and analyze information, using the appropriate law and policy to make decisions.
- Interpret, apply and provide expert guidance on relevant clauses from the collective agreement and the applicable law and policy, particularly concerning sick leave and accommodation, to stakeholders across the organization.
- Take initiative, working independently without much direction on cases and balancing competing demands.
Your background and experience
- A degree in a related discipline
- A minimum of five years of experience in human resources/labour relations, disability management, rehabilitation, and/or return to work practices
We’ll consider equivalent combinations of education and experience.

- Successfully meet the legal requirements under the Criminal Records Review Act to work with children and/or vulnerable adults
