Reporting
to the Corporate Controller, the Director, Corporate Finance provides
leadership and direction for WorkSafeBC's Corporate Finance department and is
responsible for ensuring sound financial stewardship across the organization. Supported
by a team of senior managers, accountants and finance professionals, this role
oversees financial accountability and reporting, corporate and divisional
financial services, budgeting, project support, and industry funding
management. The Director plays a critical role in supporting enterprise
decision-making through accurate financial reporting, insightful analysis,
strong accounting practices, and effective financial controls, while leading
the department through an exciting period of finance transformation, continued
modernization of financial processes, systems, and reporting capabilities.

Where you’ll work
At WorkSafeBC, we offer a hybrid work
model that combines working remotely, and in our offices, based on the
operational needs of the position.
In this role, you will work primarily
from our Richmond Office with some flexibility to work from your home in
B.C.
We’re looking for someone who
can:
- Champion finance transformation initiatives, including the implementation and adoption of
new technologies, systems, and
ways of working.
- Lead teams through change, bringing people along the
journey with clear communication, transparency, and a focus on engagement.
- Build strong, trusted partnerships with executives,
senior leaders, and stakeholders across a complex organization.
- Provide strategic financial leadership grounded in
deep expertise in accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and
financial analysis.
- Leverage technology and innovation to improve
financial processes, reporting capabilities, operational efficiency, and
decision-making.
- Balance strategic thinking with strong operational
execution and attention to detail.
- Influence and collaborate effectively across diverse
business functions to achieve organizational objectives.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous
improvement, service excellence, and high performance.
- Communicate complex financial information clearly and
confidently to both financial and non-financial audiences.
- Exercise sound judgment, integrity, and leadership in
managing financial and organizational risks.
Your background and
experience
- A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance,
business administration, commerce, or a related discipline.
- A minimum 10 years of progressive leadership
experience within large, complex organizations, including experience leading
managers and professional teams.
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is
required.
- Demonstrated experience leading finance
transformation, organizational change, and enterprise technology
implementations.
- Experience building strong cross-functional
partnerships and influencing stakeholders at senior leadership and executive
levels.
- Experience within Crown corporations, public
sector organizations, or similarly complex and regulated environments is
considered a strong asset.

Salary: $172,628.00 - $209,743.00/annually
