The Corporate
Financial Services department of WorkSafeBC is looking for one highly motivated
Co-op student, Industry Funding to
join our team to help us strive towards our vision.
As part of our
commitment to improving occupational health and safety, WorkSafeBC works
closely with and provides funding to health and safety associations. The
student will assist the department in supporting our goal of maintaining
cost-effectiveness and financial accountability for WorkSafeBC.
This is a four-month
temporary opportunity starting in September 2026.

Where
you’ll work
At WorkSafeBC, we
offer a hybrid work model that combines working remotely, and in our offices
based on the operational needs of the position.
What you’ll do
On Day 1 in this role, you will get a chance to meet your
manager and get acquainted with your team. You will spend time setting up
administrative and technological essentials, and completing onboarding tasks,
including security and payroll setup.
During your first week you will engage in a comprehensive
onboarding program designed to equip you for success. You will be partnering
and meeting with your manager and mentor to discuss your goals and align them
with the team’s vision. Additionally, you will learn how our department
contributes to the overall business strategy and supports the organization’s
mandate. You will also work through the onboarding program alongside your
supervisor for added guidance and support.
Your day-to-day responsibilities may include:
- Assist the
Industry Funding department with managing funding contracts with health and
safety associations, including liaising with internal stakeholders to gather
feedback and facilitating the required approvals and sign-offs
- Conduct
preliminary reviews on various funding requests and submitted budgets
- Ad-hoc request
to assist with conducting research for projects

Your background and experience
- You are a student
enrolled in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration program
- Previous co-op
or relevant work experience in an office environment is preferred

- Confirm you’re legally entitled to work in Canada
- Confirm you’re a registered student at a post-secondary institution and
participating in a work integrated learning program with your studies
